What People Are Saying

“My daughter attended Red Door playgroup from four (4) months until almost two years old. From day one we were impressed with Esther and Red Door Playgroup. Esther came into our home to establish a relationship with our child prior to her start date. At this initial home visit Esther was able to evaluate how she would be able to best support and enforce a nurturing environment and our family values. Esther and Kendra and all of the Red Door Playgroup staff were amazing. Esther has invested in years of training and has a diverse background as far teaching and educational experiences and methods. She has also invested in her partners and staff and empowers them to learn more and participate in continuing education. I can appreciate that while they are naturally good with children they have invested in themselves and WW also have an academic approach to their care. Red Door Playgroup encouraged my child to lead, offered play that focused on gross and fine motor skills, and offered activities that were challenging and coached her through them until she eventually mastered them. My child was one of the youngest a Red Door Playgroup and from day one she was exposed to activities for her level but also above. Because of her early exposure and the foundation received at Red Door Playgroup I have an articulate 2 year old, who is self assured, aware and respectful of the world around her. All of the lessons were thought out and were incorporated into everything that the children did from collaborative cooking to outdoor adventures and field trips. A year later and my child still talks about the adventures at Red Door Playgroup and is very close with her Red Door Playgroup cohorts. We have also been able to establish a supportive parent community and Red Door Playgroup is our family. You cannot choose a better option for your child”.

“To put it in it’s simplest way RDP changed our lives!

When our daughter was 1 years old we were challenged with finding a reliable and convenient day care option. Thankfully we were introduced to Mrs. Esther and Red Door Playgroup. Within a few days we noticed significant improvements in our daughters communication and social skills. The positive impact that Ms. Esther and RDP had on our child has shaped her in an incredible way. Ms. Esther’s attention to detail, safety and nurturing capability left us at ease ever time we dropped her off.

Thanks to the encouragement and support of RDP our daughter was fully potty trained before her 3rd birthday. During the pandemic RDP made sure to incorporate virtual classes for the RDP students and kept the community together.

We are forever thankful for the care and support that RDP has provided our family. Our daughter still asks for her favorite teacher, Mrs. Esther”.

“Observing Esther in her practice as a classroom teacher was an absolute pleasure. She is incredibly thoughtful in her approach to early education and brings her decade of experience to provide a warm and vibrant environment for her students. Her classroom was robust with creative, engaging and well thought out activities that met the children’s interest and ability levels. Esther was able to provide a great balance of love and nurture for her young 2’s while keeping to firm routines and challenging them to progress through their developmental milestones. Additionally, Esther’s confidence in commanding the classroom helped parents feel at ease with their child’s first school experience and assisted in instilling a strong classroom and school community. I am thrilled that Esther has taken on this exciting new venture and know that her leadership skills will continue to shine through in her work at The Red Door Playgroup.”

“Esther's classroom is a special space, a home away from home for her very young students. My daughter thrived intellectually, emotionally, and socially under her care.

Esther is an expert at encouraging young children's natural curiosity about the world that surrounds them. From constructing a subway out of a box when students expressed interest in the trains their parents took to work to reading Ezra Jack Keats' The Snow Day while figuring out what happened to a snowball from earlier that morning, Esther built on the children's experiences to help them learn and grow intellectually. She fostered a joy in learning that will serve my daughter for many years.

Esther also helped my daughter grow more confident. In the beginning of the year, my daughter was quiet and a little wary of school. By the end, she was comfortable expressing her needs verbally and felt very much at home in her classroom. She also grew more aware of her peers' feelings and experiences. I credit Esther for the sweet community my child and her classmates enjoy.

As a parent, I learned so much from Esther. She was incredibly responsive and, when I asked, offered solid advice without any judgement. I truly believe I am a better parent for what I learned from her. I am so grateful that my daughter's introduction to school was with Esther. Every child deserves to be in an engaging environment with an expert, loving teaching like Esther”.

“Esther is a warm, kind, loving and intelligent teacher.  She helped make our daughter’s first preschool experience a memorable one! We were nervous about moving our daughter from her daycare that we loved to preschool, but Esther helped to make the transition seamless for her.

Esther created great classroom routines and structure that all of the kids thrived in. She made each day interesting and engaging and frequently kept parents informed with what the kids were doing. We are so pleased with how our daughter developed under Esther’s care.

Esther also helped to potty train our daughter and did so kindly and calmly with patience. We learned so much from Esther and always appreciated how much she cared about our daughter and kept her engaged with a focus on her social-emotional development. We still, to this day, appreciate Esther’s expertise and valuable advice”.
